Ultrasound Imaging for Better Understanding of Your Pet's Health
Point-of-care ultrasound can help assess patients that may require urgent care and surgery. We have state-of-the-art ultrasound machines on the premises to provide a rapid assessment of the inpatient. Ultrasound machines also are useful for pregnancy diagnosis and checking the progress and health of the foetus and if a caesarean is warranted.
All the veterinarians at SAI Veterinary Hospital are the use of our in-house ultrasound. However, at our discretion, we also utilise a visiting veterinary ultrasonographer from Imaging First, Dr Louise Barnett, for select patients for first-opinion sonography for cardiac and abdominal diseases.
For formal ultrasound examinations with Dr Louise, your pet will usually be admitted to our hospital and be discharged later in the afternoon or very early evening. A sedation may be required for specific ultrasounds.
